Conrad Black comments on recent letter from Cardinal

Lord Conrad Black of Crossharbour, author and former media mogul, recently opined in The National Post about a letter circulated by Cardinal Thomas Collins, Roman Catholic Archbishop of Toronto. Black begins his commentary by discussing the point made by the Cardinal about the summer jobs programmes. In an unfettered and uncharacteristically concise style (somewhat less pedantic), he then explores the wider implications of the Cardinal's comments.  Black then draws attention to the rise in divisiveness which he perceives to be taking hold in Canadian society.

"The first step in sea changes in society are rarely noticeable," Black writes. His observations provoke thought and reflection.

I’d say this piece is a bit more ‘enlightened’ than some of the other columns I have recently noticed by him.
